SENIORS

O’Raghallaigh Park will host Ulster Senior Club Football for the first time in 19 years on Sunday when we host Naomh Conaill (Donegal) at 3.30pm in the preliminary round match.  After the extended celebrations, the side have knuckled back down to training over the past week or so and will be looking to give Cavan football a boost by hopefully getting an decent run in the competition.

We would ask all club supporters to re-create the colour and excitement of the county final down in the park for the day and cheer the lads on in this huge game.

U-21s

The U-21’s exited the Championship on Friday night with a 2-17 to 2-8 defeat to Erne Gaels (Belturbet, Redhills & Butlersbridge) on Breffni 3G.  A combination of an under-strength side combined with a tough draw meant the lads were always up against it and they battled hard but could not just cope with the strength in depth of an opponent who will be very hard beat as the tournament progresses.

U-10’S

The U-10’s continue to play away and took place in a Shercock blitz over the weekend (hopefully pictures will be on www.kingscourtstars.ie during the week).  The club will host their annual end-of-season blitz on Sunday 24th October and exact details will follow next week.  On completion of this, the side will move indoor to the Centre for November/December.

HURLING

East Cavan Gaels Hurling now train twice a week, on Wednesdays in Killinkere GFC at 7 and on Fridays from 6.30-7.30 at the Community School hall in Bailieborough. Ages 6-13. Friday hurling is proving popular in Bailieborough. New members welcome. Hurling continues through the winter months indoors with a break for December. Contact Kathryn O’ Flynn 087 2441371. Adult hurling every Sunday at midday in Killinkere, contact Breffni Clarke 087 1225465. Kingscourt Stars will continue under 6/8 hurling with their football sessions when they move indoors in November.

LOTTO

The winning numbers in this week’s lotto were 10, 15, 22 & 25 (Bonus 06). There was no jackpot winner but the following two Match 3’s won €100 each – Siobhan Tinnelly & Padraig Marron. Next week’s draw takes place in The Wishing Well and the jackpot will be €4,200 (€9,200 including the bonus).
