SENIORS

The Seniors made it three out of three with another impressive victory at the weekend.  A trip to Denn was never going ot be easy but a good start and an early Daryl Martin goal set the platform and the lads lead by eight points at halftime.  Kingscourt pressed on in the second half and a further Daryl Martin goal helped us to a comfortable 2-14 to 2-8 victory.

The side now has a run of three home matches where they will hope to build on their good start so far.  First up is Killygarry @ 7pm on Saturday followed by Killeshandra on Friday 14th and Ballinagh on Wed 19th.

JUNIORS

The Juniors will try and gain their first points of the season this weekend when they face Killygarry at 5.30pm on Saturday down the park.  Given the match is a double header with the Seniors, why not get down a bit earlier and give them some support.

MINORS

The Minors narrowly lost out on league glory at the weekend losing by a solitary point to Lacken in the Division Two League Final in Lavey on Saturday afternoon.  They got a dream start with a hat trick of goals in the opening quarter and led 3-2 to 2-2 at halftime.

Howeverwhile the net was being rattled, the points were proving more elusive and some bad wides let Lacken back into it and at the final whistle we came out on the wrong side of a 3-9 to 4-5 score line.

Depsite that, congratulations to all players and management on a great performance over the second half of the campaign and confidence should be high when the side enters the Championship later on in the Summer.

UNDERAGE

The 16s are away to Crosserlough tonight (Tues) and home to Caslterahan next Tuesday (11th).  No game last week so nothing further to report.

The 14s gained their first victory of the year with a comeback victory against Cavan Gales last week and gaining a great 2-11 to 2-8 victory.  This victory should do wonders for their confidence and hopefully they can follow up with another good performance when they visit Bailieboro on Thursday (6th) for what will be a very tough match.  After that they host Ramor on the 13th.

The 12s played Ramor Utd last night but I did not hear anything on the result.  There next scheduled match is away to Crosserlough on Monday 10th.

The 8s & 10s are training away. For pictures from the 8s recent outing in Breffni, please click here.  Still nothing on the girls I’m afraid….

HURLING

Underage Hurling returns to Kingscourt for May and June with under 8 training starting on Saturday 8th May at 6pm. If you or anyone you know has an interest in the game and would like to get involved then please drop down to the park that evening. The model we use for coaching is very user friendly and does not involve a big load of work for any individual. 20-25 mins of coaching and 35-40 mins of game time.

If we could get 5-6 adults to help out then that would be great. The more adults we have the easier it will be for all. Please spread the word as much as you can and I hope to see you down the park over the summer.

It will be a fun-based session in the basics of the game.   So why not come down and give it a go.  The Seniors are playing afterwards so you can take that in also.

For more details on this check out the club website or log on to FACEBOOK and check out the East Cavan Hurling page.
