U-21’s

The U-21’s bowed out of the championship over the weekend despite a battling performance against a strong Redbridge side under lights in O’Raghallaigh Park.  Despite the cold, wet and blustery conditions both sides put in a super show but the visitors found the net when needed and a late Daryll Martin was too little, too late, as Redbridge ran out 2-13 to 1-11 winners come the final whistle.  For a full report & pictures, please click here.

SENIORS

The Seniors progressed to the Division Two league final with another comprehensive victory as they overcame Ballyhaise in Lacken by 1-16 to 0-6.  An early opportunistic goal from Daryll Martin allowed the Stars some breathing space and they never looked back.  For a full report & pictures, please click here.

We will now face Drumgoon in the final but this has not yet been fixed and may depend on Drumgoon’s continued progression in the U-21 championship.

QUIZTIME

As the weather worsens it’s definitely getting time to take things indoors for a while.  This Thursday night sees the club pick a team for the upcoming U-17 Scor Quiz, heats of which will take place later this month.  So, if anyone round the town, who’s U-17 on 1st January 2010 and are interested in competing in the Scor Quiz, please make your way dow nto the club pavillion for 8pm this Thursday.  If you want further details, please ring Jim on 087 2321886.

On Friday night, the latest heat of i105-107FM’s Pull Hard quiz for local GAA clubs take place in Jayz in Carrick. Every Pull Hard night you get to take on rival club members in a cheeky game of Blackboard Jungle along with some interesting tasks . The craic will be 90 and if you’re the overall winner on the night you’ll grab a place in our Grand Finale at Karma, Athlone on November 22, where you have the chance of winning a brand new GAA kit for your entire first team squad up to 25 with Azzurri.  But its worth more than that . . . think about your local pride and getting one over on your rival club!!

Anyway, that’s the official blurb on it so if anyone is interested contact Joe (087 1334256) or Niall (086 8237382) or just make your way over to Jayz for 8pm on Friday.  We’re told team number aren’t restricted and it should all be a fun night.
