U-14’s

The U-14’s take the plaudits this week after their exhilarating 2-13 to 3-6 Championship success against Drumlane during the week.

A superb opening half set the platform for success with Aaron McMahon pulling the strings from midfield.  A James Carolan goal got us off to a good start and when Aaron also found the net we went in at halftime seven points clear.

However, Drumlane battled back and had the gap down to just three points in the final quarter but we held on for a deserved victory, much to the delights of the large Kingscourt crowd, including all the noisy mags!

There was jubilant scenes when the victorious side reached the town later that night  and everyone enjoyed the well deserved celebrations.  We hope to have some pictures from both the match and celebrations along with  a more detailed report on www.kingscourtstars.ie later in the week.

SENIORS

The Seniors resume action in the Division Two league with a vital match away to Killeshandra on Saturday at 4pm (although this may change to 3pm, you know what things are like!)  While both teams are clear at the top they still need one victory to secure promotion and as such a tight battle is on the cards.  Please make the effort to support the side in what will be their toughest league match to date.

U-13’s

The 13’s bowed out of the league at the weekend with a battling 1-14 to 1-6 defeat away to Bailieboro at the semi final stage.  Operating in Division One, the side has always been up against it but have battled hard in every game and will learn plenty from it for next year.

JUVENILE HURLING

It is hoped to start up a regional seven a side (U-8 and U-10) hurling league over the coming months. This will be confined to the primary schools locally, (Bailieboro,  Kingscourt, Knockbride and Killinkere). There will be no big distances to travel and the aim is purely so the kids get to learn the game. If anyone is interested in either helping out or having their child participate please contact Willie Gaughan on 086 1649280.
