A fantastic, battling performance from Kingscourt finally overcome an impressive Lacken side by 1-11 to 1-9 in the first round of the Senior Football Championship in Virginia on Sunday afternoon.  A coolly taken Mark McKeown goal midways through the second half brought Kingscourt back level and they powered through Lacken in the final quarter for a well deserved two point victory.

A great result for the side and one that sets them up well for the remainder of the campaign.  For further details on the result and pictures from the match, please log onto

The Juniors will look to keep their 100% record in tact with a difficult trip to Denn next Sunday at 2pm.  That game will be quickly followed by a home match v Ballinagh on Wednesday 24th at 8pm.  Both these games will be in Division Four with no word yet on the Junior Championship draw.

The 16’s are due to resume their league campaign after the exams but no fixtures are out yet.

Next up for the U-14’s is the regional seven a side Summer Blitzes will start.  Kingscourt have been drawn in the same group as Knockbride, Shercock & Bailieboro.  On Thursday 18th June, we will host these clubs in the first round of matches from 7pm – 9pm.

It may be their debut season, but the young “Starettes” continued their impressive form when a sensational victory over Cuchullains last weekend to make it three wins out of three.  Next up is a trip to Stradone to face Laragh Utd on Tuesday 23rd June at 7pm.

The Club would like to offer their condolences to Frank Boylan (Club Treasurer), on the sudden passing of his brother, Pat Boylan at the weekend.  Ar dheis dé go raibh a anam.
