SENIORS

The Seniors continued their championship preparations last week with a narrow defeat at home to Dromard (Longford) by 2-14 to 0-19.  However, it was a good run out for all the squad and a further challenge is in the pipeline for this week ahead of the championship opener against Lacken on June 14th in Virginia at 2pm.

JUNIORS

The Juniors maintained their 100% record as they secured their sixth victory of the season with a 2-12 to 1-9 victory over Gowna in a sun-drenched O’Raghallaigh Park on Sunday afternoon.  A hard fought victory maintains the side’s place at the top of Div 4.  No upcoming fixtures have been issued for the next round of the league.  The Junior B Championship is due to start on 24th June but the draw has yet to be made.

JUVENILE

The 14’s meet Castlerahan in the League Shield on Wednesday 3rd June at 7.30pm down in the park. No word yet on the 12’s involvement in the Shield match.

The Girls U-12s opened their league campaign with a great 1-8 to 1-2 victory over Laragh Utd on Monday evening in the park.  Played in blistering heat, both sides put in a great performance but a Michelle Lynch goal helped the “Starettes” to the victory.  The girls should be in action each Sunday evening for the next five weeks as they play their league matches, both home and away in the group with Shercock, Cuchullains & Laragh.

One of the biggest days of the year for the 10’s this Saturday as they compete in the   big Newry Blitz that takes place on Saturday 6th June.  In previous years, the side has always represented the club extremely well, both on and off the pitch, and we are sure this will continue this weekend.

The U-8’s  continue training at 5.30pm on Wednesday evenings.
