SENIORS

The Seniors played out a 0-6 – 0-6 draw with Ballyhaise last Friday evening down the park.  If the Juniors had to endure thick fog the previous Friday, the Seniors had to make do with a bitterly cold gale which left playing conditions very difficult for both sides.

Some great scores from Ryan McCormack, Darragh Gunne & Mark McKeown gave the Stars a 0-4 to 0-1halftime lead. When Ballyhaise narrowed the gap at the start of the second half, and the wind strengthened it did not look like the gap would be sufficient.

This new found resilience though surfaced again  and the lads dug in and further scores from McCormakc & McKoewn cancelled out Ballyhaises scores.  However poor shot selection from both sides meant scores were at a premium. With minutes remaining, and leading 0-6 to 0-4 it looked like we had weathered the storm in both senses, but credit to Ballyhaise two late points snatched a draw.

At the end, both sides were unsure whether they were happy with the point or disappointed not to have won, such were the chances missed.  That said, the club remain unbeaten which is a huge positive and hopefully they can build on this experience when they face a tricky tie away to Drung next Sunday at 2pm.
