TRAINING

Training continues for Seniors, Juniors & Minors down in the community centre every Tuesday & Friday evening at 9pm and 8pm respectively.  Last Friday evening, the Seniors faced Mattock Rangers in a challenge match.  Despite the arctic conditions, they managed to put together an encouraging performance and gain a fully deserved 1-11 to 0-8 victory.

MINORS

The Minors open their league campaign this Saturday (14th) with an away trip to face Redbridge at 2pm.  We wish the players and management every success in this year’s season and hopefully they can build on last year’s good run.

HURLING

Indoor hurling training has recently started in the Community Centre on Saturday afternoons.  Their are two sessions on the day, 4p-5pm for under 9’s and under 12’s for 10-12 yr olds.  The sessions are for both boys and girls. All equipment is provided and new members are most welcome.  The Club would also appreciate the assistance of any parents/adults who would be interested in volunteering to coach or supervise.

JUVENILE AGM

The Juvenile AGM takes place in Tuesday 17th February (Note change of day) at 8pm in the Club Pavilion.  All members are requested to attend.  The Club also intends to form a Juvenile Girl’s club at the same meeting with the intention of setting up an U-12 team for this year.  Obviously participation is key to both these club’s and we ask any parents whose children may be interested in joining or indeed anyone who would just like to contribute to the running of the club to also attend. New members are most welcome.

U-14 FEILE

Last July, the club hosted Salthill/Knocknacarra in the national Feile competition.  Over the weekend, all that was good about the GAA stood out to anyone who was lucky enough to be involved in the event and some lifelong friendships were formed between players & management of both clubs.

This coming weekend, the players and management of last year’s U-14 team (and a few blow ins!)  have been invited down to Galway for the weekend by the Salthill side to repay the club for their hospitality.

There are many events planned for the weekend culminating in a visit to Pearse Stadium to take in the Div.1 match between Dublin & Galway. I’m sure all involved will have a tremendous time and will be telling us all about it for weeks to come.
