ULSTER COLLEGES ALL-STAR
Over the weekend, Barry Reilly was named at full forward on the Ulster Colleges All-Star team. A huge honour for not only the club, but also for Barry’s family and school (Patrician High School, Carrickmacross). Nominated by his school, Barry attend two trials involving the best players from all the top secondary schools all over Ulster.
After these trials the selectors (including Sean McCague & Tony Scullion) selected Barry at full forward and he was the only representative from both school and county. This honour caps of a splendid year for Barry that saw him representing both the County Minors and the Club Seniors for the first time.
This is the 22nd year of these awards and Barry will join a very prestigious list of people in having obtained this honour. There is an initial pressday today (22nd) to publicise the selection with a Gala Banquet taking place on 3rd April 2009 in the Europa Hotel, Belfast to present the awards.

MINORS
The Minor league should start in a very friendly and love-filled mood as it will open proceedings on Saturday 14th February, although fixtures are not yet to hand. As mentioned above, a huge congratulations to Barry Reilly on his Ulster Colleges All-Star.
CHRISTMAS CARDS
The Club would like to thank everyone involved in the creation, distribution and sales of the club Christmas Card. This was the first year this has been run and involved a picturesque snap of the main street from the last White Christmas that occurred in the town. It also feature Christmas greetings in five different languages and was big hit throughout the town.
We would like to thank all the pubs and shops for their assistance in selling them, and in particular all those who pestered their friends, family and work colleagues into purchasing them. All profits went to the Kingscourt Cancer Fund and a cheque for €300 was presented to them last weekend
