CAMOGIE
Round 3 of the U16 Championship took place at Abbeydorney GAA pitch last Saturday in wet conditions and saw Kerry take on Wickow. Kerry started the better and by half time it was 5-6 to 0-0 in favour of the home team. Wicklow just couldnt get to grips with the crosswinds and sent a lot of posession wide, and with the Kerry girls scoring 2 further points in the second half, Wicklow got the scores they worked so hard for finishing with 1-1. Final score Kerry 5-8 Wicklow 1-1. Our thanks to Abbeydorney GAA club for the use of their facilities and to McElligots Bar for the use of their function room. . Again, a great win for the girls and hopefully this will continue at next weekends away match to Carlow. A win here is crucial to stay in the competition. Megan Weir, Kilflynn playing at full forward scored 2points for Kerry, before going off injured.
