Club Night 2011. Great Success

November 7, 2018

Ballycumber Community Centre was crowded with revellers on Saturday night. Over 250 people turned out and all were loud in their praise of the entertainment provided. The food supplied by Paul Bergin was excellent. The Woodbines and DJ Doo kept the music going all night. Peter Flynn and staff kept everyone well stocked with refreshments. The Chairman of Offaly County Board Pat Teehan and Galway legend Declan Meehan presented the Junior B champions with their medals and also presented local Camogie winners Lorraine Keena and Catriona McDonald and Scor na nOg County Champion Bridget Healy with pieces of glass to mark their successes. The highlight of the night was when Paul Gavin junior was presented with a medal to acknowledge his attendance at all matches and training sessions during the year.
Dermot Horan was an outstanding M C and kept the formalities moving along quickly.
Many thanks to the organising committee of Gerry Kelly, Liz Egan, Florrie McLoughlin, Kathryn Quinn, Sean Corcoran, Frank Healy, Seamus Murphy, Dermot Horan and Eamonn Larkin for their dedication. Saturday morning was spent preparing the Community Centre and Sunday evening was taken up with cleaning and returning tables and chairs etc.
Already looking forward to next year.
