LUCAN SARSFIELDS’ CLUB NOTES MONDAY April 14th 2014
Membership is now due for 2014. We encourage all members to renew as soon as possible by following the link on our website. We particularly extend an invite to Parents and Guardians of our Juvenile members to consider one of our family options. All players up to U21 are now included in the family options.

Congratulations to of U14 Ladies Football Feile Team who reached the semi-finals on Saturday. A great day was had by all.
Congratulations to Aoife McKelvey and Colm Hickey on the birth of their baby boy, the latest addition to the Lucan Sarsfields family.
There were wins at the weekend for our CCC2 Hurling Teams. Our U16As put on a great display against Chroabh in from of a home crowd and came away with a 1 point victory. Earlier the U13’s prevailed over Skerries Harps and St Judes. On Monday evening the U15As made it 3 from 3 following a hardy battle with Naomh Fionbarra.
Go Games last weekend focused on football the U12s had good wins over Na Fianna and St. Pats with the U11s taking on Cuala and Templeogue. Our U10s were also in action against Templeogue combined with an away trip to St Judes. The U8s hosted Ballinteer on our All weather pitch and the U9’s were in action against Cuala and Crumlin. The skill levels on display across all games were excellent with this weeks Sars Stars nominations are posted on the website.

Congratulations to our Senior Footballers who continued their winning streak with a victory over Fingallians in front of a large crowd in the 12th Lock on Saturday evening. Our Div 7 footballers followed suit on Sunday morning with a win over St. Annes. Hard luck to our Div 10 who suffered a narrow defeat also on Sunday and to our Div 4 Team.

On the Camogie front the U12B Blue and Red Squads won both of their Go-Games matches away to Ballyboden St. Endas. The U13Bs lost at home to Crumlin and the U16As won away at St. Vincents. The Senior 1 and 2 teams won their respective home matches against Erins Isle and St. Vincents B. The Senior 5 team lost away to Kilmacud Crokes B while the Senior 6 team lost at home to Good Counsel.

Strictly Sarsfields comes to lucan. Expect glamour, fancy footwork and lots of laughs at the Lucan Sarsfields fundraising event in Westmanstown on Sat May 3rd. The fundraisers are in full swing. This Wednesday there is a 25 Card drive in the Bar. The U10s have an Easter Hamper and Dublin Jersey for raffle in the Bar in support of Maggie Mulqueen. The Senior Footballers are holding a race night on Sat 26th April, in support of Carol Gallagher’s campaign, with D.J Al Curtis on the Mic. Jenny Costello is conducting a Nursery Skills Day for girls on Sat 26th, plenty of spot prizes and fun promised. Kenny Wade is holding a FootGolf competition also on the 26th. Please get behind these events and take advantage of the stretch in the evenings!

Our nurseries continue every Saturday from 1.30pm at the Clubhouse. New players are always welcome and registration is just €10 for both Hurling and Football. This is your chance to participate in a training session led by Dublin Hurling Captain Johnny McCaffrey. Each week over 150 boys and girls practice their skills and improve their overall physical well being in a safe and controlled environment on our purpose built all weather facility. There was no winner of Sunday night’s €9,500 Lotto. The unlucky numbers were 3, 11, 17, 19. This weeks lotto is for a jackpot of €10,000 sponsored by Newcastle Golf Centre and Mick Mulhall is in charge of proceedings.
