Pat Murphy Cup

After two thrilling semi-finals one of which went to extra time the final pairing for the Pat Murphy Cup is now known. In the first semi-final Eamon McCann’s outfit inspired by the experienced Paddy Hughes and Martin Reel upfront defeated  a Joe Murphy team that was intent on all out attack but too often left the over worked Kenneth McVerry isolated in goals. In the second semi-final Daniel McKenna’s young outfit came out of the trap will all guns blazing and raced into a four point lead. Lead by Carnally sharp shooter Billy McVerry. However this was not a sprint race and Tony McKenna’s experienced outfit clawed their way back into the contest with the help off points from veteran striker Mickey McVerry and import Damian Rocks. This game finished level in normal time and just when it seemed that Tony’s blue outfit had victory in their grasp a stunning goal in the final minutes stole victory for Daniels never say die team. Final will take place on Saturday 29th November preceded by the “wooden spoon” challenge throw in for this event is 7 o’ clock. Refreshments for everybody in the clubrooms after.
