Senior Team
On Sunday our Senior Team had a home game to Granemore. After Saturday’s torrential rain the field although soft in places was in remarkable good condition. Granemore opened the score line with a thirteen meter free. By the fifth minute two Damian McCann points left the Bridge in front. At this stage Granemore’s running game was causing the home side trouble which resulted in another two points followed by a goal to leave the visitors four points ahead mid way through the half. The Bridge got more into the game and finished the half scoring four points to Granemore one, leaving the half time score 1-4 to 0-6 in favour of the visitors. A pointed free four minutes into the second half leveled the match. The next score did not come until the sixteenth minute when a D McCann pointed free put the Bridge in front, Granemore equalized in the next attack but for the remainder of the match Silverbridge got a grip of the proceedings and four unanswered points left the home side in commanding position. Granemore tried for a goal as the clock ticked down but good defensive play limited them to a pointed free in injury time to leave the final score Silverbridge 0-12 to Granemore 1-6.
B Team
Our
B Team reached the final of the All County B Final on Wednesday night last when
they beat Pearse-Og by six points in a very
entertaining game. Pearse-Og ran into an early lead
but this was soon thwarted when Silverbridge put many
classy moves together. With the Bridge on top at midfield the forwards were
getting ample supply of the ball and wrapped the game up with some fine scores.
This team now plays Killeavey on Wednesday night in
the
Meeting
There will be a Gala Meeting on Tuesday night at 9pm in the resource centre.
