Silverbrige Harps G.A.C. Notes
Senior TeamThe Senior Team hosted Carrickcruppen in Keeley Park on Sunday evening in bright sunshine. It was Carrickcruppen who registered the first score after five minutes but the bridge came back and scored a point from a D McCann free. At this stage both teams were trading point for point with an attacking brand of football on display. As the game neared half time Carrickcruppen forged ahead with a five unanswered points leaving the half time score 0-8 to 0-3. Carrickcruppen came out the second half and scored the first point at this stage a bridge victory looked highly unlikely. A L Campbell free settled the bridge and when G McGarvey rattled the net comeback was on the cards. With R Hamill dominating around the middle of the field and the ball going in quick to our forwards the bridge went through a purple patch, another goal from L Campbell and points from E Byrne and B Byrne pushed the bridge four points ahead. B Team The B Team had their first game against Killeavy on Wednesday evening last, Silverbridge started the game well and raced into an early three point league, at this stage the bridge were playing some very attractive football but as the half wore on Killeavy came more into the game with three good points. Half time score 0-6 to 0-3. Silverbridge started the second half as they finished the first with an early point but Killeavy came back to within one point. Two more bridge points followed by an opportunist goal from Thomas Mallie pushed the bridge into a commanding lead and they ran out winners by 1-11 to 0-8. This was a good all round team performance with all forwards on the score sheet. MinorsThe minors had their first match against Forkhill on Monday evening last after twenty minutes we lost our full back Oliver Hearty through injury but still put in a good performance throughout the team with fairly solid defending and sharpness up front. It was a great team performance and everybody played their part. Monday nights match is against Killeavy away.
Under 16 The under 16s again hosted a local derby with the visitors being Forkhill this time. The game began in ferocious pace with both teams trading scores, until a high ball caught in the swirling wind somehow found its way into the back of the bridge net. The boys regrouped and scores from P Carragher and G Rowland helped the bridge close the gap to a single point at half time. The second half played out much to the first with teams trading scores against each other. The game ended with Forkhill still with the one point advantage. Silverbridge must be kicking themselves after this defeat due to the number of missed chances and basic mistakes made. A big improvement is needed and all players are requested to be on the field Tuesday at 7pm for training. Under 12The under 12s started the season with a good performance at home against Killeavy. Although they were beaten by a point the lads worked hard throughout and if they work on their shooting, results will start to go there way.
Senior ladiesSilverbridge ladies were at home this week to Éire og, The game started with a furious pace with the home side taking an early lead, Eire og soon got themselves on the score board, it was a tight first half and finished with the home side leading 1-3 to 0-4. The second half started much the same as the first and the silverbridge ladies extended there lead when they took an early goal chance. Eire og fought hard but couldn’t close the gap on the home side. It was a great team performance and the game finished Silverbridge 3-6 Eire og 1-7. This is two wins on the trot for the silverbridge ladies, well done girls ad keep it up.
Under 16 GirlsThe Under 16 Girls had their first league game of the year in Keeley Park on Monday evening against Granemore. The girls worked hard throughout upfront all forwards shone and picked off some nice scores. This was a great team effort and a good start to the season. Match Monday evening against Phelim Bradys at 6.45 all girls to report for 6 o clock.
Lotto
The lotto was not won last week the numbers drawn were 2, 5, 18, 32 and bonus number 8.Winners were Pete Daly £100 Jimmy McCann £50 Pat Rooney £25 and Thomas Grant £25. MeetingThere will be a meeting of the executive this Thursday at 9pm in the Social Club.Resource centre meeting will take place on Wednesday at 9pm.

All tickets for Jigs & Reels are now sold admission on the night is by ticket only doors closing at 9pm. Full house is to be expected so therefore no more tickets will be released.

Sponsored Walk & Family Fun Day
The annual sponsored walk and family fun day will be on May Bank Holiday Monday followed by a Bar-be-cue at the club.

The envelope draw will take place on Sun 4th May at the Jig and Reels will all patrons who have still got outstanding envelopes please hand them in.
