SENIORS

Another super victory for the Seniors over the weekend with a hard fought victory over Killeshandra down the Park with a JP Reilly goal on the stroke of halftime seeing us hit the front for the first time and we never look back.

FOr further details on the game, please click here.  Next up is our re-arranged match at home to Ballinagh on Wed @ 8pm before a trip to Belturbet on Saturday @ 7pm.

JUNIORS

The Juniors made it two wins on the bounce with a remarkable comeback victory away to Muintirconnacht on Sunday.  Despite trailing 0-10 to 0-1 in the first half they turned things round to gain a 0-16 to 0-12 victory.  A great week for the side after a disastrous start to the season.

They now have two home games to further build on things with Templeport the visitors on Saturday (22nd) @ 4pm and Corlough on Sunday 30th @ 1pm.

UNDERAGE

The 16s took a huge step to a semi-final place with an excellent victory against Castlerahan during the week.  Despite trailing by 1-7 to 0-5 at halftime, they turned in a dynamic 2nd half performance to turn things round and a late Jack Sheenan goal sealed the victory on a scoreline of 1-12 to 1-8.

They face two away games to finish of the league this week with a trip to Terry Coyle to face the Gaels on Tuesday and then away to Redbridge on Friday.

Should they qualify for the semi’s, these are scheduled for the last week in June with the semi pencilled in for Tuesday 22nd and the final the following Saturday.

The 14s lost their final two matches in the league during the week to both Ramor Utd and Laragh Utd.  That completes the league stage of things.

The 12s play their final match tonight (Mon) away to Cavan Gaels in the blitz-based league.  They then have a bye week before the super blitz finals day in Breffni Park on Saturday 29th April.

The 8s & 10s are training away and details of their upcoming blitzes should be to hand shortly.

GIRLS

Call of the search party, the girl’s have been found!  They were down the Park all along and doing rightly it seems….

The U-14’s have two games played so far.  They drew their first one at home to Cornafaen and then went to Cuchullains on Tuesday 4th May and secured a 3-6 to 2-3 victory after an extremely tense game. Their next game is down for Wed 19th May at home against Drumgoon.

After that they will have three games left,  against Gowna and Templeport away and St Finbarrs at home. Games seem to be every two weeks and we’ll get more details up when we have them.

The U-12’s opened their campaign with a large win over Knockbride at home. They usually play on a Sunday evening and train on a Sunday morning and that’s what I’ve got so far. Any more details, are greatfully received.

HURLING

Underage Hurling has returned to Kingscourt for May and June with U-6 & U-8 training forming part of the same level’s football training on Sunday mornings.  So far this has proved successful (and a welcome distraction for the poor beleaguered U-8 football coaches!!).

WEBSITES

The club’s FACEBOOK page was set up during the week and has proven very popular so far.  Updates are put more the various teams as we get them and we also have some small footage up from the Seniors recent victory over Killeshandra.  Details for the regional hurling are also available on East Cavan Hurling’s page.

As for the old-fashioned plain website – www.kingscourtstars.ie this continues to be updated with all the results, fixtures, tables etc.. for all the teams and is still well worth a visit.

The live streaming is still moving along behind the scenes with a successful trial run during the week.  Still plenty of work to do (including finding a commentator, come on, you’re out there somewhere!) and we hope to have more news early next month.

FANTASY FOOTBALL

The entries for Gaelic Life’s Championship Fantasy Football competition have now closed. So far we have had 15 entries for the club’s mini league.  If anyone has entered the main competition and also wishes to enter the mini league you also need to e-mail me your team to info@kingscourtstars.ie. Can you please do so by 3pm on Tuesday 18th.   Once all the entries have been confirmed details of the opening week’s scores will be posted on the website and Facebook page later this week.

LOTTO

There was no winner or Match 3’s in this week’s Lotto. The winning numbers (or not as the case was!) were 08, 12, 13 & 27 (Bonus 24).  Next week’s jackpot will be €9,200 (€14,200 including the bonus) and the draw will be in Freemans on Sunday 23rd May.
