Club Notes 15th March 2009

November 8, 2018

The juniors tasted defeat in their second game of the Tansey Cup to St. Faithleach’s. Elphin played very well for all but 10 minutes in the first half. But during this spell when St. Faithleach’s were on top they opened a significant advantage leading by 2-6 to 0-2 at half time. Elphin started much stronger in the second half and were searching hard for the goals to get them back in the game. They eventually got two goals but there was not enough time left in the game to get closer.
Team: A. Callery, M. Kielty, D. Cregg, K. Beirne, E. Keane, M. Brady, A. Beirne, F. Cregg, J. Conroy, R. Morris, S. O’Beirne, M. Cregg, D. Donlon, M. Hynes, M. Byrne. Subs: S. Beirne, Dermot Neary.
The next game is away to Pearse’s this Sunday at 12.

The minors suffered defeat at the hands of Shannon Gaels on Sunday last in Croghan. Elphin did not show the same fight for the ball as Shannon Gaels and only for some brilliant saves from Brian Oates the score would have been much worse.
