SCÒR:
Scór na bPaisti success for Elphin

Elphin had a successful evening at the recent Scór na bPaisti competition, which was held in Ballyleague Community Centre last Saturday. The team of Niamh Beirne, Cillian Fox and Oisín Murphy overcame stiff competition from nine other teams to take the Question Time title.

The Set Dancing team of Katie Killoran, Katie Lee, Sabrina Regan, Sylvia Regan, Niamh Feeney, Debbie Rattigan, Hettie Cahill and Alex Gleeson finished runners up to St. Dominics.

The next competition on the Scór calendar is Scór na nÓg, the GAAs talent competition for young people. There are eight sections in Scór that cover a wide range of activities: Figure Dancing, Solo Singing, Instrumental Music, Recitation/Storytelling, Ballad Group, Novelty Act, Question Time and Set Dancing.

If you think you’re a talented singer, actor or musician and would like to test yourself against Roscommon’s’ finest why not call 071-9635946 or email roscommonscor@gmail.com. Participants must be under 17 on January 1st, 2009, and become a member of Elphin GAA club if not already registered. Any help in organising teams would also be appreciated.

The county quarter final of Scór na nÓg takes place in the Elphin Community and Sports Centre on Saturday November 8th at 8pm so there will be plenty of home support to cheer you on!
