Club Notes 22nd March 2009

   Many thanks to all that attended the clubs dinner dance last Friday 20th and especially to the dinner dance committee for all their hard work. The night was a great success with a large attendance, great food, and great music provided by The Colin Galligan Experience. Thanks to Michael Maguire (County Board Chairman) and his wife, also Cathal Cregg, who was the special guest on the night.
   Medal presentations were made to the 2008 Minor Div 2 Champions and the 2007 Tansey Cup Junior league winners. 
Player of the year awards went to (Senior) Ronan Brady, (U21) Paul Kelleher, (Junior) Martin Cregg,and (Minor) Martin McCaffrey. Last but not least, thanks to The Percy French Hotel for there wonderful hospitality.

 The Connaught Scòr final takes place in the Elphin Community Centre next Sunday 29th March. With Mick Rock (recitation) and the Elphin Set Dancers in the Final the Club asks everyone in the community to come out and support them. Mick will be in competition against his son Dermot (representing London) which should add some spice to the proceedings!!!

 The Junior team picked up there first point with a draw with Pearses, Elphin 1-13 to Padraig Pearses 3-7. See website for team.

 Our Minors lost to Kilmore last Sunday in Kilmore. Elphin 1-2 to Kilmore 4-8.
Training continues at 7 on Tuesday and Thursday.
UNDER 16`s:
   Next fixture versus Tulsk in Tulsk Sunday 29th at 12.00pm.

     Our Ladies U16 team were beaten by St. Croans in the Div. 3 B Final last Saturday in Ballyleague at 2.30pm.

 There will be a coaching workshop in Ballyleague on Saturday for u-8 and u.10 which starts at 10.30.

  Hard luck top panellists and players, Kevin and Gerard Brady, Eanna Tiernan and Fintan Cregg who done the club and county proud last Saturday against Mayo in the u21 championship.

 No Jackpot Winner.

   The club`s new lotto format is now up and running with the Jackpot Rollover increasing to €150 each week and 6 Lucky Dip winners if the Jackpot is not won. Thanks to Coman and Enda Brady of The Independent Mortgage Company for their sponsorship of Elphin GAA Club Lotto.
