Club Notes 28th Sept 2007

November 7, 2018

Next Sunday we play in our third county final in eight years when we take on near neighbours Colmcille in what promises to be an exciting and tense affair which is attracting a lot of interest both within the county and also from all neighbouring counties. A huge crowd is expected in Pearse Park and we really have an extremely difficult task ahead of ourselves if we are to win the Sean Connolly Cup as Colmcille are the form team in this years championship and indeed they recorded a convincing win over ourselves in the first round, a large vocal support will be required and best of luck to the team and management. The club would urge each household to display their flags and bunting during the week to show their support to the lads. Next weekends activities kick off on Saturday evening at 6pm with an Irish music and song session in the clubhouse by the youth of the parish. After this it is off to the Breffini Arms Arva for “Up for the match” at 10pm with interviews, music, song and craic followed by players training/injury fund function. 11.30am Mass on Sunday will be offered up for all the deceased members of the club. A church gate collection will be held at each Mass next weekend for players training and injury fund. Tickets for our development draw are currently on sale from any club executive or member, cost €50 with a prize fund of €30,000.
