Club Notes 2nd November 2008

November 8, 2018

UNDER 21`s:
The U-21s began their championship campaign with a hard-earned victory away to Padraig Pearse’s. The first half was a tight affair with both defences to the fore. The half time score was Elphin 0-2 Pearse’s 0-1. Elphin made a great start to the second half with a goal from Eanna Tiernan which came from a great piece of fielding by David Kelleher. The game opened up after this point and Pearse’s fought bravely but Elphin held strong to win by 1-7 to 0-8.
Team: S Reynolds, D Cregg, K Byrne, K Beirne, G Brady, K Brady, S Beirne, R Brady, Fintin Cregg, M Callery, E Tiernan (1-2), Frankie Cregg, L Taylor (0-3), P Kelleher, M McCaffrey. Subs D Kelleher, G Cregg, R Collins.
There is no U-21 game this weekend; it is likely there will be one next weekend.

The juniors are due to play their final Tansey Cup match this Saturday at 2pm in Boyle. With a semi final place still available for Elphin it is important that there is a full turnout of players for this decisive game.
