Vodafone ‘Its common knowledge that the club that works together wins together and Vodafone have come on board to support GAA clubs with this novel programme. It’s the easiest way for you to support your club at absolutely no extra cost to you. All Vodafone customers can sign up to this scheme and Vodafone will donate 5% of your pay monthly or top up bill to the Kickham club who are a recognised club on their web page. If you are not a customer and you wish to make the switch to Vodafone it will mean even more money for the club. For any of the options it’s only a matter of contacting Tommy Hayes on 062-62244 or Sean Breen on 062-71131 with your details. Alternatively you can text on your details to Tommy on 087-7934739 or Sean on 087- 2646441 and you will receive a text from Vodafone confirming your registration. You can also log on to or go to the Kickhams web page and click on the link. There are many 087 numbers within the Parish as well as family members living around the country. Scoil Mhuire Notes

Congratulations to the pupils of Second Class – Brid, Becky, Caraiosa,Emma, Faye, Keri-Ann, Rebecca, Sarah, Shannon, Sinead, Zoe, Barry, Ben,Brendan, Bryan, Devon, Eric, Hugo, Joe, Jordan, Joshua, Lorcan, Niall, Paudie, Seanie and Steven – who received their First Holy Communion recently. Well done also for your generosity in making a donation to Focus Ireland for their wonderful work in Zambia.

The girls and boys in Sixth Class took part in the county blitzes organised by the FAI. These days were most enjoyable, and were particularly successful for the boys’ team who made it back to compete in the finals. Many thanks to Declan Hogan who helped out with coaching, and with the organisation of the games during the three days.

The school was recently visited by Emmet Thornton from the Cashel ‘Aimsir Bia’ group who spoke to each class about the importance of bio-diversity and helped the children plant native fruit trees. Pupils and staff were delighted to be included in this worthwhile venture. We hope that our visiting rabbits will not eat our young trees!

We had a very successful school tour last month when we visited Bunratty Castle and Folk Park. The group leaders worked very diligently during the day and have set a very high standard for future tours!

Our School Sports Day was held on the first real day of summer. The warm sunshine was most welcome. Everyone – pupils and staff -had a great day.

Again, the team leaders worked very hard and helped greatly in making the day so enjoyable.

The in-school hurling league is in full swing. We are now in the third round and we are looking forward to the semi-finals and final in the coming weeks.

We wish our U13 school camogie team the very best of luck on today Thursday 10th of June in Semple Stadium when they will play in the Cumann na mBunscoil County Final. We are delighted to be playing in Thurles again. If you are free please go in and support them.
