U16 championship  V Malachys/Ballinagore in The Downs
A share of the spoils after a pulsating game of football played in difficult conditions was a fair result. Both teams had chances to win a game of fine football. After being dominant in the first half we led by 1.05 to 0.02 but conceded 2 second half goals and had to come from behind to get a draw. Our backs were on top in the first half and we should have had a bigger lead but wasted too many chances. Some of the lads tired a bit after the break mainly due to the long break we have had but we finished strong and could have possibly won had we taken advantage of some chances we had. All said we showed great determination throughout. It was great to see the commitment we showed going for the ball and if we keep this effort up we will be difficult to beat going forward. Team G Sheridan, P Duncan, P J Maguire, A Boyhan, S Raleigh, D Daly, D Moran, S Cullen, F Thompson, N Coates, J Cahill, C Quinn, L Loughlin, S Murray, K Newmann. Subs J Feeney, F Doherty, S Conroy, R Briody, M Kelly, N Gavin.

Junior Championship The Downs 2:5 Loughnavalley 2:6
We travelled to Shandonagh on Tuesday last where we took on Loughnavalley in the Junior championship semi-final.  The Downs started well and took the  initiative quickly taking the lead and going in at half time 1:1 ahead. Loughnavalley an experienced side continued to try and reduce the difference but  The Downs managed to hold on to the lead as the game approached full time,  however Loughnavalley scored a goal in the final minute of the game to go a point ahead. The Downs tried to get the equaliser in added time but it was Loughnavalley who progressed to the final.
