Pride of place this week goes to our minor team who turned in a fantastic display to defeat Southern Gaels by 7 points to claim the Div 2 league title. This was a great result and really capped a great season for this team. Congratulations to all involved especially the team management of Kevin Hourican and Jamsie Maguire who worked very hard all year in producing in excess of 100 training sessions, with this fine bunch of players the future of the club looks bright. Congratulations also to the Ladies team who won the Junior B Championship last Sunday, well done to all involved. After a heavy weeks celebrations our senior team returned to action on Sunday to record a 1 – 10 to 0 – 5 victory over Fr Manning Gaels. We would like to record our appreciation for the nice sporting gesture by the Fr. Manning Gaels players by lining up to applaud the Dromard team as came on to the pitch to play their first match as 2007 County champions. This victory stands us in good stead in Div 1 of the league. However we face a difficult ‘must win’ final game next Sunday versus Ardagh in Parc Na Gael. Our Div 3 team compete in the final of the Div 3B on Friday night next versus Fr Manning Gaels in Killoe. This will be a very difficult game to win as Drumlish have produced a string of impressive results recently and each of our players will have to be at the top of their game to succeed. The club urge a big turnout of supporters. The club would like to thank all supporters and fans for their huge support in the lead up to and during the County final and also the fantastic display of flags, bunting and signs throughout the parish, it was indeed very much appreciated. The club would also like to thank all players and supporters who conducted themselves with dignity during the week long celebrations. Tickets for our development draw are currently on sale from any club executive or member, cost €50 with a prize fund of €30,000. Congratulations to Mullinalaghta on winning the Intermediate Championship and belated congratulations to Fr Manning Gaels minors on winning the minor championship.
