Under 10’s
The under 10 boys have had a busy week. On  Tuesday last Team Amber travelled to Castletown Finea to play the home side in the second round of the North Westmeath League. Both sides worked hard for the 40 minutes and produced some good football despite the damp conditions. Panel: Reece Barton, Eanna Burke, Jack Carroll, Matthew Cunningham, Liam Faulkner, David Keenaghan, Ryan Mannering, Trevor Martin, Cian McCourt, Eoin Mulreid, Oisin Murphy, Shane Murtagh, Blaine Parker, Oisin Raleigh, Jordan Raleigh-Doyle, Luke Smith, David Smyth.
On Saturday morning the entire panel were action in the first round of the Mullingar Area League versus St Loman’s in Lakepoint Park. In beautiful sunshine and high temperatures, 2 under 10 games were played simultaneously which produced some great football.
Then on Sunday, the under 10’s had their trip to Dublin which involved some matches in the morning followed by a visit to the Croke Park museum and stadium tour in the afternoon. First up was a visit to the fine facilities of St. Oliver Plunkett’s Eoghan Ruadh on the Navan Road. This is the home club of Master Derek Butler and we thank him for linking up the 2 clubs. In glorious sunshine over 80 footballers provided 8 finely balanced matches with honours probably even overall. Following the football a fine array of food and refreshments were provided by our hosts in their impressive clubhouse. We thank them sincerely for their hospitality and look forward to returning the favour later in the year. Next stop was Drumcondra and GAA headquarters for the museum and stadium tour. This was thoroughly enjoyed by both children and adults and was completed with food served high up in Canal Suite 416 overlooking the magnificent pitch. Well done to all who represented their club impeccably throughout the day and finally thanks to Paddy for providing souvenir posters for all as a momento for the day.
The next under 10 fixtures are provisionally fixed for Tuesday 1st June home to Milltownpass (Team Black) and home to Ballynacargy on Saturday June 12th.
Details to be confirmed at training and text messages will be sent as usual.
Finally, best wishes to Mark Conneely for a speedy recovery from a recent injury and we look forward to seeing him back between the sticks very soon
