Club Notes 9th November 2008

November 8, 2018

LOTTO:
There was not jackpot winner last Sat night. The numbers drawn were 11, 12, 24, 26. The 4 lucky dip 25 euro winners were Frances Brennan, Raheen; Michael O’Beirne, Castle St.; Chris Cassidy, Raheen; Ciara Duignan, Strokestown.
Next week’s jackpot is €3500.

Thanks to David Dunne who is the latest to join our Online Lotto. We really appreciate your help and wish all players the best of luck in future draws.

JUNIORS:
The juniors finished their year on a disappointing note with a loss to Boyle last Saturday in Boyle. The game was played in horrendous conditions and a depleted Elphin team were no match for a strong Boyle team. This loss all but ends Elphin’s hope of reaching the Tansey cup semi-finals. Thanks to all the players who played throughout year and to Jim McLoughlin and Noel Carney for managing the team.

UNDER 21:
The U-21s continue their championship campaign against Castlerea this Saturday at 3pm in Orchard Park. All supporters are encouraged to go along and support them for this game.

Scor update 8th November:

It was a weekend of mixed fortunes for Elphin on the Scor stage last weekend.

The club was represented in five categories in Ballinameen Community Centre on Friday night and were successful in the Recitation & Set Dancing competitions with our Solo Singing, Question Time and Novelty Act teams narrowly missing out.

On Saturday night, on front of a large home crowd in the Elphin Community and Sports Centre, Elphin qualified in the following categories: Figure Dancing, Instrumental Music, Recitation, Ballad Group, Question Time, Novelty Act & Set Dancing. Elphin Scor would like to thank everyone who helped prepare the Community Centre, supplied refreshments and tidied up after the event.

The nine qualifiers will now represent Elphin in the county semi-finals in Ballyleague Community Centre on the 28th and 29th of November. If they are successful there they will qualify for the county final, which will also be held in Elphin on January 11th.
