Results
ACL Div 1 The Downs 0:9 Athlone 0:10
We open our league campaign with a home game against Athlone this proved a very competitive and close encounter with only a point separating the sides for most of the game. With the game entering the final minutes Athlone took a point advantage, The Downs worked the ball towards the Athlone goal but could not secure the score to get a share of the points..
Team: Ciaran McCormack, David McDermott, Mark Dalton, Declan Lynam, Conor Carley, Greg Crowley, Adam Price, Luke Folan, John Smyth, David Smith , Barry Conroy, Noel Molloy, Shane Power, Tommy Cleary, Keith Shanley. Subs Used: Stephen Devine, Niall Folan.

Scor
On Saturday last we hosted the county final of senior Scor we were represented in three events- Figure Dance (Lisa Lohan, Niamh Moriarty, Sharon Hynes, Sarah McGuire, Sinead Carley, Sarah Moran, Michelle Carthy, Ciara Carthy) , Solo Singing Jenny McNamee and Set Dance (Brenda Deihy, George Coyle, Grainne O’Dowd, Kevin Flynn, Sinead Lynam, Kevin McGuire, Michelle Flynn, Greg Crowley). On a night of the highest quality across all events it was difficult to call any of the results, first result was the figure dance and after coming so close in recent years this year The Downs were the successful team well done to the mentors George and Geraldine who added senior to this years junior title. In one of the most competitive competitions of the evening Jenny unfortunately lost out in a high quality competition. The last competition Rince Set also went The Downs way, another title for mentors Alice and Brenda who can also add senior to junior title this year, completing a unique dancing double of county titles for the club a fantastic achievement by any measure.
Thanks to everyone who helped out on the night to ensure a smoothly run competition Best of luck to all county winners as they travel to Oulart, Enniscorthy, Co Wexford for the Leinster Semi-Final on Sunday 27th @ 3pm.

Best wishes to Aoife Rowan, Mary Lynam, Caoimhe Carthy, Clara Thornton, Niall Mitchell, Dean Daly, Darragh Carroll and to mentors Noel and Anthony as they represent club and county in the final. The Downs GAA Club Members Draw 2011
The Club has just launched our third Annual Members Development Draw. This year we have revamped the draw. Due to the current economic climate we have reduced the price of the tickets by fifty percent, which we hope will give all our members, supporters and friends an opportunity to support our draw once again.
There will be three draws during the year, the first of which takes place on April 30th, our second draw takes place on August 27th and our third (Gala) draw takes place on December 26th. There are twenty five prizes on offer and the total prize fund is €16,000.
For further details contact Peter Shanley on 0872234739, Aiden McGuire on 0862532327 or any member of our Committee.
We would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank all those who have supported our Development Draws over the last two years. Without such support our recent Stand and Dressing Rooms Development would not have been possible.
