Minor League               The Downs 2:11 Tyrrellspass 0:11
We travelled to Tyrrellspass on Sunday morning biding to keep our wining form going. We got off to a slow start and found ourselves 5 points to nil down after 10 mins. We were finding it hard to stay with Tyrrellspass and missed some scoreable chances. Once our backs settled down to their task and midfield with half forward line helped out by winning possession we got our first score from Luke Loughlin. We added a couple more and then a great move starting with a quick kick out from Kevin Maguire to Ryan Briody who sent Luke on his way down the line. Luke floated a great pass into the goal area and Danny Bergin flicked it to the net. We piled on the pressure after this and got 2 points followed by a well take Kevin Smullen goal. 2.05 to 0.7 half time.
Second half into the wind we had a real good effort throughout the field. We took great scores the best of the day from Shane Carroll a long range point from open play. We finished with the win 2.11 to 0.11. Our backs showed great grit and determination and we won midfield with Brendan Flynn and PJ Maguire grinding down their opponents over the course of the game. All the forwards won good first time ball with Luke Loughlin taking the game to Tyrrellspass in great fashion. Shane Carroll gave a great display all over the pitch. Well done lads for a great honest effort. Next up Maryland-Tang. Team K Magiure, P Murray, N Murray, D Moran, C Quinn, C Seery, D Daly, PJ Maguire, B Flynn, L Loughlin, K Smullen, D Egerton, R Briody, S Carroll, D Bergin. Subs all used F Thompson, C Scally, M Kelly.

On Sunday afternoon at home we played our third league game, The Downs dominated the scoring in the first half leading at half-time 0:9 to 0:3.
