We are continuing with our free text message service via TEAMER 51687 which we use to notify members regarding various club activities. If you wish to avail of this service, please text your name and number to Marc at 087 8362297. These messages are free to receive and a reply is not required. We currently have over 300 subscribers but would like to enhance it further to ensure all our supporters are aware of our activities and are notified when venues are changed or games cancelled etc

You can register to receive our free weekly newsletter email at our lotto website www.locallotto.ie – just search for The Downs. The newsletter is sent every Monday night and includes that night’s lotto results and club notes.
 
Bingo
Bingo  continues every Friday at 8.30, come along and bring a friend for an enjoyable nights entertainment.

Club Shop
With underage training on a Friday evening now finished, The club shop will be opened as required.  Orders now being taken for Christmas, small quantities of all items in stock – gloves, gloves, wind cheaters, kit bags. contact Carmel at 087 9496347.
 
Under 13 Winter League
The Downs played their first game in this new winter league on Saturday 12th November away to Killucan.16 of a potential panel of 35 players were available on the day.
10 players were up directly from U12 playing full size pitch and 15 a side game for the first time. The Downs won the game with a great display of attacking football and determined defensive play.
Team on the day was Darragh Tone, Evan O’Riordan, Darragh Monaghan, Keith Carroll, Phillip Martin, Dara Flynn, Cathal Faulkner, Darragh Murray, Ciaran Nolan, Joseph Moran, Alex Henry, Max Rowan, Jordan Smyth, Dylan Carroll, Donal Coughlan and Conor Gavin. Future games will be against St Lomans, Mullingar Shamrocks and St Michaels.
 
Senior Citizens Committee
The Downs Senior Citizens Committee are holding a Christmas Dinner Party at 2pm on 4th December in The Downs Gaa Centre. If you are eligible and interested in attending please call Damien 0894112758, Suzanne 0877540943 before Sunday 27th November.
 
Scor
The club hosted a first round of Junior Scor on Saturday last and were successful in Figure Dance, Solo Singing, Recitation, Novelty Act, and  Set Dancing. Well done to all our competitors on the night. This weekend we are hosting a semifinal on Saturday night best of luck to everyone competing.

Fundraising
The Ladies Football are collecting bags of clothes as a fundraiser, so you can now de- clutter and help the club raise funds. Bags are available from any team coach or committee member or in The Shop.
 
League Division 2 Semi-Final.          The Downs 4:10         Killucan 1:7
On Sunday we played the semi-final of the league at home, The Downs got an ideal start with a goal in the first minute, Killucan replied with a number of unanswered points but a second goal kept The Downs in touch and went in at halftime 2:1 to 0:6 . On the resumption The Downs scores 1:1 unanswered and dominated the scoring for the remainder of the game emerging deserved winners.
