We are continuing with our free text message service via TEAMER 51687 which we use to notify members regarding various club activities. If you wish to avail of this service, please text your name and number to Marc at 087 8362297. These messages are free to receive and a reply is not required. We currently have over 300 subscribers but would like to enhance it further to ensure all our supporters are aware of our activities and are notified when venues are changed or games cancelled etc
 
Weekly newsletter email
You can register to receive our free weekly newsletter email at our lotto website www.locallotto.ie – just search for The Downs. The newsletter is sent every Monday night and includes that night’s lotto results and club notes.
 
Bingo
Bingo  continues every Friday at 8.30, come along and bring a friend for an enjoyable nights entertainment.

Club Shop
With underage training on a Friday evening now finished, The club shop will be opened as required – contact Carmel at 087 9496347.
 
Scor
The Scor committee are running a Night at the Dogs fundraised Buster Night Saturday 5th November with a first prize of €500.  Tickets €10 adults €5 children includes entry to Mullingar Greyhound Track.
 
AGM
Nominations and motions for the  2011 AGM  should be submitted to the Club Secretary on or before 4th of November.

The Downs Ladies Football
 
Minor Championship Semi-Final      The Downs 4:7 Coralstown/Kinnegad 0:3
Our minor team qualified for the championship final on Saturday in Kinnegad Playing with the wind in the first half The Downs dominated possession and finished the half 3:5 to 0:0 ahead. In the second half playing against the wind The Downs defended skilfully to minimise Coralstown/Kinnegad’s scoring chances.
 
Fundraising
The Ladies Football are collecting bags of clothes as a fundraiser, so you can now de- clutter and help the club raise funds. Bags are available from any team coach or committee member or in The Shop.
