Results
The under 12’s put in a good performanceaway to St Loman’s last week but ended up on the wrong end of a final scorelineof 7-8 to 5-4. Captained by Nathan and Jake, we had agreat turnout of over 30 lads so everyone played a half each as the home sidedidn’t have enough players for a second game. Tonight Wednesday we host MullingarShamrocks in the last round of the league, throw in at 615pm. Players meet at545pm.
On this Saturday we travel to Caulry toplay in their annual tournament which starts at 3pm – details to be confirmedat training.
PatWalsh Cup
We played our annual Pat Walsh Cup under 10tournament  on Saturday  with teams from Clan na Gael Athboy, NavanO’Mahoneys and Caulry taking part it proved an enjoyable and entertaining  afternoons football. Thanks to everyone whohelped out with the games and  to all whoprovided refreshments and helped out in the hall.
Underage Coaching
This week is the last of Friday eveningtraining – the last training session season will take place on Saturday 6thOctober at 5pm with the usual refreshments afterwards in the clubhouse.

OnSaturday in Moate we won the under 16 B Championship. This game proved theadage  goals win games. Garrycastle  took the early initiative in the game and putscores on the board going into an early 0:4 to 0:0 lead. In the second quarterThe Downs created  scoring chances butfailed to convert the opportunities, with half time approaching  TheDowns goaled to finish  the half a pointdown. The  Downs  improved their game in the second halfand  took advantage of some excellentpassing to create space to score the goals which ensured victory . TheLadies Football are collecting bags of clothes as a fundraiser, so you can nowde- clutter and help the club raise funds. Bags of clothes can be left with anyteam coach or committee member or in The Shop. Please ask family, neighbours,friend and co-workers to fill a bag.
