Boys U14s
The lads finished their season on a high with a visit to Croke Park on Saturday last for the International Rules match v Australia. A great time was had by all and the fair play to the club for subsidising this trip in recognition of the great effort but in by the boys during the year. A night for the presentation of medals is currently being arranged and will be confirmed shortly.
Following the great reception  of “ For Club and County” We are hosting another Play The Quare Land by John McManus Directed by and starring Seamus O’Rourke
On the 23rd of November.
Keep Fit
Keep fit classes 7 – 8  Tuesday Circuit training Thursday keep- fit/ toning. Contact Bernie 0879282432
Zumba Fitness classes every Wednesday night in the Downs clubhouse, from 8.30pm to 9.30pm. €7 per class or €60 for 10 weeks. Get fit for Christmas. Contact Sharon on 086 8200540 for more details.
Bingo continues every Friday at 8.30, come along and brings a friend for an enjoyable night’s entertainment.
The club AGM is on Thursday 5th December @ 7.30. All proposals and motions should be  with the secretary by 21st November.
The Downs Ladies Football
League Div 2 semi-Final The Downs 2:7 St Lomans 2:9
On Sunday morning in St Lomans in terrible weather conditions we exited the league after a very evenly contested game with little separating the sides throughout . In the final minutes it was St Lomans who edged ahead with no time remaining for The Downs to stage a come back. Team: Orla Gavin, Ursula Carley, Amy Dagg, Aisling Egerton, Fiona Dignan, Leanne Duncan, Rebecca Kelly, Katie Heffernan, Roisin Scally, Mary Lynam, Laura Wynne, Aoife Rowan, Hanna McGrath, Gillian Ferguson.
The Downs Ladies Football Fundraiser
Ladies Night of “Vanity Fair”   on the 30th November@The Downs Clubhouse Tickets €5 incl glass of wine. There will display tables form beauty/hair/crafts/food/wine and even a tarot reader!  We are also having a Dress Boutique on the night and are looking for ladies to donate un-wanted/pre-loved dresses in good condition so we can sell at a low price. We are collecting dresses NOW as we are in the process of putting together a facebook page so all will have an idea of whats on sale. All dresses can be left in The Downs Shop. Also, prize for ‘Best Dressed Lady’ on night so make sure you’re dressed to Win! (Over 18’s only)
Clothes Collections
The Ladies Football are collecting bags of clothes as a fundraiser, so you can now de- clutter and help the club raise funds. Bags of clothes can be left with any team coach or committee member or in The Shop. Please ask family, neighbours, friend and co-workers to fill a bag.
