We currently have over 300 subscribers but would like to enhance it further to ensure all our supporters are aware of our activities and are notified when venues are changed or games cancelled etc

Under 12’s
The under 12’s travelled to Rhode on Saturday morning last for a double challenge against the home side. It was nip and tuck in both games with the black and amber shading the overall result. Thanks to all the lads who travelled and to the parents who provided transport. Well done to Mick for refereeing who is proving to be an able performer with the whistle. Afterwards, the lads were treated to some wise words from All-Ireland winner Stephen Darby who was part of the famous Offaly team of 1982. Next league fixture is scheduled for tonight Wednesday 11th May away to Shandonagh @ 7pm. Training continues on Fridays at 630pm and new players are always welcome.
 
Under 10s
The Downs U10 Amber Team were at home in the 1st round of the North Westmeath League on Tuesday night against St. Mary’s of Rochfortsbridge.  After an entertaining game of football with lots of quality scores the Downs emerged as winners.  The Downs team included the following: Mark Connelly, Oisin Loughlin, Adam Smith, Mark Nugent, Tom Tuite, Oisin Raleigh, Reece Bardon, Blaine Parker, Kevin O’Sullivan, Gary Cleary, Shane Murtagh, Adam Connelly, David Smyth, Christopher Sleator, Cian McCourt, Owen Murray, Eoghan Egerton, Jake Quinn, Sean Power, & Gary Wynne.  The Downs U10 Black Team will be away to Shandonagh on May 17th in the next round of the league.

Bingo  continues every Friday at 8.30, come along and bring a friend for an enjoyable nights entertainment.

Underage Training
Underage training from under 6 to under 12  Friday evenings  from 6.30 to 7.30 t.  You can register at any training evening 
 
Club Shop
The club shop will be open during Friday evening  training  for the season. A reminder that crested football gloves are available at cost price in the club shop on Friday evenings – 8 euros for kids, 12 euros for adults – manufactured by Breathe Sports and as worn by several counties.
 
The Downs Ladies Football
Underage training for  under 6 to under 12 on Friday evenings 6.30 to 7.30 on If you haven’t registered, you can register in The Shop with Liz or any training night, remember you have to register to play.
Under 14s train on Mondays at 7. Under 16s, 18s and juniors train on Tuesday and Friday at 7.30. New members are welcome to come along for any age

Under 12
The under 12s travelled to Shandonagh on Tuesday last and after a close and competitive game emerged deserved winners. Well done to all the large panel of girls who travelled. Our next game is on Tuesday  at home.
 
Under 14
The under 14 team had a busy week playing challenges against Longford Slashers and Rhode Co Offaly both proved very useful workouts. Well done to the County U14 team on winning the Leinster Championship especially to Clara Thornton, Laura Wynn and Amy Dagg who are on the panel  and congratulations  to Clara who was chosen as player of the game.
 
Fundraising
The Ladies Football are collecting bags of clothes as a fundraiser, so you can now de- clutter and help the club raise funds. Bags are available from any team coach or committee member or in The Shop.
