Club Notes from week ending Oct 13th

November 8, 2018

On Sunday last we, our domestic season came to an end as we played Clonguish in the Leader Cup Semi Final and were defeated by 10 points (2-14 0-10).  We led by 4 points coming up to half time and looked in control of the game when a fortunate Paddy Dowd goal before the half gave Clonguish a much needed lift. Just after the break, Joe O’Brien netted for Clonguish while up at the other end, Colmcille were guilty of kicking some crucial wides and missed goal chances. In the final quarter, Clonguish were 7 points in front and extended this lead to 10 before the finish. It was a poor performance by our lads and a big improvement will be required if we are to make an impact in the Leinster Championship next month. Noel Farrell is still out with a knee injury and Gary Murtagh broke a bone in this hand during the game but hopes to be back in time for the Leinster Championship Game. We wish Clonguish the best of luck in the final against Ballymahon.
