Club Notes - March 27th

November 7, 2018

Senior: Our senior hurlers have been knocked out of the County Challenge Cup following two defeats this week.  On Wednesday night last we were beaten by Borris-Ileigh after extra time by 1-21 to 2-12 in the Round 2A clash.  This meant we would contest the Jim Devitt Cup where we faced Drom-Inch in the quarter final on Sunday afternoon in Moneygall.  Drom-Inch came out on top in this game by 1-17 to 2-7.

Junior: Our first round match in the north junior league against Burgess was postponed last weekend and will now be refixed for a later date.

Under 21: Well done to the Moneygall/Clonakenny footballers who have qualified for the north U21 B final following last Sunday’s semi final win against Portroe.  We will now face Ballinahinch Gaels in the final this weekend – see north board fixture list for details.

Minor: The north minor football championship begins this evening (Wednesday 27th).  Moneygall/Clonakenny will play Lorrha in Group 1 at 5.30pm in Moneygall.

Schools Hurling: Hard luck to Liam Carroll, Anthony Devereux, Sean Fogarty, Paddy Devereux and Tomas Duane who were members of the Coláiste Phobal Roscrea panel beaten by St. Fergal’s College Rathdowney after extra time in the All-Ireland Senior A Vocational Schools Semi-Final on Saturday last.

Black & Reds: The Black & Red Golf Society will hold their first outing of the year this Saturday afternoon from 1.30pm to 3pm in Roscrea GC.  Please contact secretary Tom Byrne to book your tee-time.
