Coolera Strandhill News 13-7-2008
After a promising league campaign our senior side were defeated by Ballymote in the final fixture in division 1 of the league. A victory in this game could have ensured Coolera a place in the league final. However Ballymote took the initiative from the throw in and raced to a five point lead before Coolera recorded their first score of the game. Coolera upped their game in the latter stages of the first half and narrowed the deficit before the interval. Ballymote finished the second half strongly and ran out comfortable victors. The return of influential forward Alan Costello from injury bodes well for the Championship campaign which resumes in August. The team are now concentrating on the final group game against Eastern Harps having already qualified for the quarter finals.
