Senior

On Sunday last we defeated St Columbas (2-7 to 0-8) in our final group game of the Senior Championship. It was two well taken goals by Declan Farrell in the 6th and 45th minute that made the difference with the latter coming after the dismissal of Francis Kavanagh after he received two yellow cards. St Columbas put up a brave performance and we wish them well in their challenge to avoid relegation.

Minor

Our U/16’s played against Shannon Gaels in the B Championship in Fr. McGee Park on Thursday evening last in a game where we were leading by eleven points at one stage to then leading by just one point.  However some of our players put in great performances and we were able to get those important scores when they were needed. The final score in this game was Colmcille/Clonbroney 5-10, Shannon Gaels 5-6.  On that same evening in Fr. McGee Park our U/13’s played against Killoe in the U/13 league.    We were minus some of our players for this game and suffered a heavy defeat.  We were due to play Longford Slashers in the next round of this on Tuesday 4th August.  Results of this next week.  Our minor amalgamation were due to be playing Granard/Ballymore on  Monday last 3rd August in the semi-final of the B championship and results of this next week also.  Please check fixtures for any other games in other age groups.  Well done to our Seniors who had a good win over St. Columba’s on Sunday last in the championship and we wish them the best of luck when they meet Clonguish in the next stage of this competition.
