Club Notes Week ending August 30th

November 8, 2018

The scheduled Div 3B Final that was to be played last Sunday was called off late last week at the request of Fr Manning Gales. It has not been confirmed when it will go ahead so check website and sports pages for updates.

To keep the muscles limber, the team did have a run out against a Mostrim selection on Sunday morning and came away with a 3-3 to 0-7 victory. We would like to thank Edgewortstown for the game.

The Junior Semi Final will be played this Saturday at 5pm in Pearse Park and we encourage all supporters to come out and get behind a team who have been going well up to now.

The Club would like to acknowledge Peter Bolger for his time and commitment in managing our Senior team for the 2009 campaign. 2008 was a hard act to follow and his plans were not helped by the absence of some players from 2008 and an injury hit 2009 panel. We would like to wish Peter the very best of luck in his future endeavors. The existing management team will continue to train the team for the remainder of the year. That will include the clubs participation in the All Ireland Sevens Competition at Kilmacud Crokes, Stillorgan on September 19th, the eve of the All Ireland Senior Football Final. This tournament involves 48 invited teams, including the Champions of all 32 counties. We hope that the Club and the County are well represented by the Colmcille selection.

There was no winner of the August 23rd Lotto Draw (7, 18, 28, 30) of 2100. Lucky Dip winners were Gerry Durkin; J P Sheridan; Mairead & Finnan Reilly, Gowna; Marie Keenan-Reilly; Tom Gray, Drumhaldry. The recent 100 euro winner for August was Granard Farmers Mart.
