Club Notes Week ending June 28th

It was Div 4 action that provided the only football action during the past week. Minus a few players against Clonguish at Fr McGee Park on Thursday last, we were defeated on a score line of Colmcille 1-11 Clonguish 2-17. However, we still stand a chance of making it into the top four if we get a result in the last game against Abbeylara this Friday evening at 8pm in Lynch Park.

Well to Longford Juniors on that great comeback against Louth on Sunday and well done to Paul, Francis and Gary. We wish them the best of luck in the replay on July 8th.

The Club would like to thank all who supported the recent Shane Connolly benefit night including the people in the Gaigue/Ballinamuck area who greatly supported the cause.

The winning numbers of the lotto draw for June 20th were 15, 18, 21, 28. There was no jackpot winner. 30 euro lucky dip went to Maureen Brady, Ann Brady, Rosduff, Nell & Jack Flanagan, Fiona &Margaret Murtagh, Brendan Bracken, Aughaboy, Killoe. Sellers prize to Team 1. Next weekend team 3 (Andrew Mc Keon, Terry Gunshinan, Matt & Bernie Mc Gahern, Colm Murtagh) is on duty with the draw being held in Murtaghs.

At a recent executive meeting, votes of sympathy were passed to Frank Reilly, Geraldine Keavney, Francie Joe Sheridan, Larry Oates, John Greer, Elizabeth O’Brien and Mia Jones. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a n-anam.

Finally, a special mention of congratulations to the multi talented Michelle Farrell who scored an impressive five goals for Longford Town u-14 ladies in the All Ireland quarter final on Sunday last.
