Club Notes Week ending Nov 16th

November 8, 2018

Senior
On Sunday last, the senior season came to an end when we were defeated by Eire Og in the AIB Leinster Club Quarter Final Reply. Like the previous Sunday, the game went into extra time and it was a game where we failed to take our chances and put scores on the board when it mattered. However, it was a game where we battled hard and showed great heart and determination throughout in never letting up. There was a big attendance in Pearse Park with the Colmcille supporters in full voice, not to mention the great support provided by Longford supporters.

Although the year did end on a dissapointing note, it must be remembered that it was one of the most succesfull years in the Clubs existence when we captured the Sean Connolly Cup back in September after going down in last years final. Pride of place must go to the Club Executive, Managemet Team, Players, Members and Supports for a memorable year.

The club executive have started to arrange the Club Dinner Dance which will be taking place in the new year.

Finally, we would ask all Colmcille supporters to submit their team for the ‘Team of the year Competition’ that is being run by Michael Carrigy with the proceeds going to Our Ladys Hospital for Sick Children. This is now an annual event and we picked up a few awards last year. It is hoped that we can pick up a few more this year and perhaps go one further and get player of the year. See Longford Leader for details.
