Colmcille GFC Notes

November 8, 2018

The senior team will commence their championship challenge next Saturday 11th June against Ballymahon. The game will take place in Devine Park, Edgeworthstown at 6.30pm. We hope to see a good crowd out to support the lads and as part of a price reducing plan within the G.A.A, the county board has announced their pricing plan for the championships. The prices are as follows: Adults: €10, Students and OAPs: €5, U16s: Free. These prices will be in place up to and including Quarter finals of the Senior, Intermediate and Junior championships. There is also a discount package in place, prices as follows: Adults: €100, Students and OAPs: €50. This package gives admission to all Senior, Junior and Intermediate matches up to Quarter final stage.
The Reserve League 1 match with Abbeylara that was due to be plaid last weekend has been rescheduled for Sunday 12th at 1pm in McGee Park.
A reminder that after the Championship match a Mr & Mrs competition will take place in Murtagh’s lounge. The event is part of the Operation Transformation drive and is sure to be a night of craic and revelations with some very special guests taking part! There will also be a raffle on the night so don’t miss out on the chance to see some feathers fly!
Hopefully all cyclists are now registered to take part in the cycle from Croke Park to Colmcille. What the cyclists are doing is certainly no mean feat they are looking for some sponsorship so we ask all to support them as much as possible. On the day of the cycle, June 25th, we ask everyone to turn out in force around the Cross to welcome the group home. After undertaking such a mammoth task, they certainly deserve a big homecoming. The gang will be rolling in between 5pm and 5.30pm.
The walks on Sunday mornings are continuing as usual for the 12K Lake View Walk on July 11th.
There was no winner of the May 30th lotto draw. Numbers drawn were: 12, 17, 23 and 25. Lucky dip winners were: Benny Mc Cormack, John & Vincent Numford, John Mc Evay and Paddy Farrell. The jackpot has now broken the €9,000 mark, which is not to be sniffed at. Envelopes are available at all the usual, local outlets and from any executive member. Yearly lotto subscriptions can be purchased by contacting John Flanagan or Frances Kennedy. Be sure to be in with a chance to win. Team 1 are on duty next weekend.
