Colmcille GFC Notes

November 8, 2018

Colmcille’s Operation Transformation will launch next Saturday, 5th February, at 9.30 in Murtagh’s. The aim of this venture is to raise funds for the club. Seamus McKeon is the man behind this novel idea. It is planned that ten people will nominate themselves to lose some weight during the remainder of the year. Whilst doing this they will also seek sponsorship for every pound they lose. They will set themselves a maximum target for which to seek sponsorship. Along with this drive, each of the ten members will enlist the help of a further ten people to seek sponsorship on their behalf. This will, no doubt, include several organised events throughout the year. In this way it is hoped to raise maximum funds for the year.

The fund raising drive will also include a series of functions similar to a race night during the year. Bets will be taken on the weights of each member at each of these functions. It is hoped that in this way the whole community will get involved in the fun. The drive will start on Saturday with the first weigh in and placing of bets. There will also be live music. We wish each of the ten members and their teams the very best of luck. There are currently two position available on the Operation Transformation team. Anyone interested in taking part is asked to contact John Reilly on 085 7322857 or at secretary.colmcille.longford@gaa.ie
