Colmcille GFC notes

November 8, 2018

Our Senior Championship campaign kicked off on Friday evening last against Abbeylara in Maguire Park. Unfortunately the result didn’t go our way as we lost out by four points (1-8 to 0-7). Despite a slow start we only trailed by two points at the break and a blistering start to the second half saw the lads take the lead. But a goal from Abbeylara eventually ended our challenge. The result put pressure on for the remainder of the group stage, leaving us with must win games against Sean Connolly’s and Cashel.

Our Junior B team are pencilled in to play Clonguish in Allen Park on Wednesday 21st July at 8pm while the Junior A team are down to play St. Brigids in Killashee on the following Wednesday 28th July. The time has yet to be decided for that game.

Congratulations to the Longford U-16 Ladies team who won the Leinster Final, beating Offaly. Congratulations to Aine O’ Reilly and Michelle Farrell who represented our club with distinction.

The club would again like to encourage continued participation in our Club Lotto. The response over the last few months has been excellent and we hope to have your continued support over the coming months. The lotto is a vital source of income for the club. It allows us to provide excellent facilities for all age groups to get involved in the G.A.A. Your support is very much appreciated.

There was no winner of the July 11th Lotto Draw (4, 21, 25, 30) of €4,700. Lucky dip winners were Dylan Mc Entee, C/O Nellie Gormley, Seamus Nugent, C/O Nellie Gormley, Sean O’ Reilly C/O Nellie Gormley and Darragh Mc Nerney, Fostra. The seller’s prize was won by Nellie Gormley.
