Congratulations to the Longford Minor team on their fantastic victory over Offaly in the Leinster Final at the weekend. In particular congratulations must go to Barry Mc Keon who had a superb game and scored some great points. Mention must also go to Darren Farrelly from the St. Vincent’s club whose father John is from Colmcille. We also congratulate Ciarán Fox, the team manager, who is our close neighbour in Ballinalee. That is not to single out any one individual as this was a marvellous team effort. The team has done themselves and the whole county proud.
Commiserations to the county senior team, who were beaten by Down in Newry on Saturday.
We would like to thank all those who travelled to Newry and Dublin to support both county teams.
Our senior team will kick off their championship challenge on Friday 16th July against Abbeylara in Maguire Park at 8:15. We wish the team the best of luck for the upcoming campaign.
There was no winner of the July 4th Lotto Draw (1, 10, 24, 29) of €4,600. Lucky dip winners were Sean Cooney, C/O Nellie Gormley, Fran McNamara, Castlebar, Evan Mc Keon, Smear, Phil & Mary Brady, Cornadrung. The seller’s prize was won by Nellie Gormley.
