Lá na gClub:

As a result of the inclement weather condition over the last few weeks, Nace O’Dowd Park was deemed unplayable and thus the club was forced to postpone our planned day of activities for Lá nag Club last Sunday. This was unfortunate but there was no other option and we hope to hold the event at a date later in the summer. Many thanks to all those who volunteered and helped with the planning of the event.

Intermediate:

Our Intermediate side play St. Michaels on Sunday next May 17th at Nace O’Dowd Park at 3pm. Best of luck to team custodian, Francis Brennan who joined the Sligo senior panel for training this week.

U-16:

Our U-16 team had a fine victory over St. Pats last Monday evening to make it nine wins from nine in the league. They await confirmation on who the semi final opposition will be. Panel: Stephen Barrett, Edward Burke, Aiden Coleman, Darren Coleman, Raymond Connolly, Christeoir Davey, Brendan Doddy, Fergal Gallagher, Keelan Gannon, Kieran Gannon, Pearse Gorman, James Henry, Joe Henry, Barry Kennedy, Christopher Lee, Colin Marren, Michael Mulvey, Declan McCormack, Eoin McDonagh, Cian O’Dowd, Seamus Wims.

U-12:

Our U-12 team lost out to a strong Curry side on Tuesday evening last. They play away to Owenmore Gaels on Tuesday May 12 at 6.30pm.

U-8:

The club is due to host a number of clubs in a series of blitz games at Nace O’Dowd Park next Saturday morning.

Schools Competition:

In conjunction with the GAA’s 125 celebration and the school’s day which was held on April 24th, the club has organised an art competition for both Achonry NS and Rockfield NS. It is open to third class through to sixth class and has a GAA theme. Prizes will be awarded to winners in the different groups. This is in recognition of the sterling work carried out by teachers and all coaches in our schools throughout the years. It is hoped to forge a stronger link between the schools and the club into the future.

Sympathy:

The club wishes to extend sympathy to the Ruttledge family, Carrowmore following the death of Dick last week. Sympathy to Fidelma Ruttledge on the recent death of her mother, Bridie Henry, Killavil. The club also extends sympathy to the Kivlehan family on the death of Annie Kelly, (aunt of Brendan and Peadar) recently in Dublin.

Ar dheis Dé go raibh said.

Sligo Minors:

Best of luck to the Sligo minor team who take on Galway in the Connaught championship next Saturday in Tuam. Enda Kivlehan and Sean Gorman are representing our club as members of the panel.
