Lottto Membership: The Club lotto membership for 2009 is now due for renewal. Tickets are available over the coming week from officials, players and Club managers. The club urges all senior players, parents of underage players and supporters to become club members via our lotto. This is the primary source of funding for the day-to-day running of the club activities from U-8 through to Intermediate as well as off the field activity. The costs associated with a club like ours have increased again this year and we therefore look to an expansion of our membership base to allay these costs. The club must cover county affiliation fees, club registration, player and property insurance, grounds maintenance plus numerous ancillary expenses each year. Membership is €100 and this entitles the holder to entry into 12 monthly lotto draws plus the Christmas bonus draw. The Jackpot currently stands at €5800! A €200 members prize is also drawn each month. Once again, we thank all club members for their support to date and we look forward to renewed backing for the year ahead. On-Line Lotto: We remind all members and potential members that you can now sign up for the club’s membership lotto on our website www.coolaneymullinabreena.com and we especially hope that club supporters away from home might avail of this facility. Intermediate Management: The club’s 2008 Intermediate management team of Frank Gilmartin, Eugene Henry and Tom O’Donnell have recently informed the club that they are standing down from the position. We thank them sincerely for all their efforts and dedication throughout the year in this demanding and time consuming role. 2008 must go down as a very successful year with league promotion secured as well as reaching an intermediate final only to lose out by the narrowest of margins in the replay. Once again, many thanks to these men for their commitment. Club meeting: The December club meeting will take place on Tuesday 2nd in St. Nathy’s Hall at 9.30pm. It is imperative that all sold lotto tickets are returned on the night and we ask all ticket sellers to make the best effort possible this week. Also on the agenda for this meeting will be Intermediate management for 2009. Players and club members who wish to have their views known on the matter are given the opportunity to do so at this forum. Bereavement: The club would like to extend sympathy to the McGuinness family on the recent death of Hugh McGuinness, Athlone. The McGuinness family are originally from Knockadoo, Coolaney and the late Hugh’s brothers Eamon, Seamus and Pat (deceased) were all honoured at the club’s recent Jubilee Team Celebration. Ar dheis Dé go raibh sé. New Arrival: Best wishes to Raymond and Inez Wimms, Achonry on the recent arrival of baby Zara to the family.Coolaney/Mullinabreena GAA
