We are awaiting details of the final fixture against St. Pats. Check the club website for details.

1984 Team Re-Union:

Planning is now at an advanced stage for the upcoming dinner dance to mark the silver jubilee of the club’s junior double winning side of 1984. The presentation night will take place on Sunday, October 25th in the Clarion Hotel Sligo. There has been a great response to date with many already committed to travelling long distances for the event. Some weeks back an error was made when it was stated that Peadar Gorman was Club Chariman in 1984. It was in fact Benny Wilkinson. Apologies for the mix up. Tickets are now available for the event, priced at €50 and bookings can be made by contacting John Marren, Ollie Lee, Brendan Kivlehan and Shane O’Brien. All are welcome to what promises to be a great celebration and a great night’s entertainment.

Dinner Dance Programme:

The club is planning to produce a special souvenir programme for the upcoming ’84 team re-union. Anyone who wishes to sponsor an advert in the programme should contact Ollie Lee or John Marren.

Underage Presentation:

A presentation will take place to all the children who took part in the Saturday morning coaching sessions on Saturday October 3rd at 10am at Nace O’Dowd Park. The u-8, u-10 and u-12 children will be presented with special GAA 125 medals to mark this year’s celebrations. Tremendous volunteer work has been carried out all year by our many club coaches who give of their valuable time to the club. Up to forty boys and girls have attended the sessions. We hope the parents will come along on the presentation morning to experience the fun and show their appreciation.

All Ireland tickets:

The draw for the football All-Ireland tickets was held at a club meeting in Coolaney last week. The four winners were Collette McGowan, Trevor Sexton, Dermot lynch and Kieran Coleman. Congrats to Sligo referee Marty Duffy and his team on their performance on the day.

Johnny Stenson:

The club wishes to extend sympathy to the Stenson family following the recent death of Johnny Stenson, Sligo and formerly Curry. As a mark of respect, we had club, county and national flags erected at Nace O’Dowd Park on the day the funeral passed.Ar dheis Dé go raibh sé.
