Club Notes August 24th ‘09
1984 Team
In the GAA Centenary year of 1984
Mullinabreena, after a lapse of sixteen years, captured the Junior title
beating Calry in the final by 0:10 to 0:05. That team also won the league title
against Calry on a score line of 3.09 to 3.04.The championship team and panel
was as follows; Pat Coleman, Eamon Gorman, John Brennan, Tom O’Donnell, Micheal
Gorman, Kevin Johnston(C), Frank Gilmartin, Benny Wilkinson, James McDonagh,
Tom McBrien, Gerry Connolly, Tony Moran, Francie Gallagher, Fr Tom Colleary,
Gerry Mullen. Subs: Michael McDonagh, Michael Coleman(RIP), Aidan Walsh,
Christy Davey, Frank Gormley, Stephen Gormley, John Gorman, John Mullen,
Michael Foy, Padraic Hamilton. The management team was Tom Keane and James
Finan. The club are planning to hold a dinner dance as part of a reunion of the
1984 junior winning team and officials. This is a great opportunity to honour
this team and will provide a fantastic occasion for the club and communities to
get together and celebrate in style. The date is bank holiday Sunday October 25th and the
venue is the Clarion Hotel Sligo.

David Hosey. They will be copied and returned.
Intermediate:
Preparations
continue for the intermediate championship quarter final next weekend. We take
on Owenmore Gaels on Saturday August 29th in
Minor:
Our minor
team got their championship off to a great start with a win over Geeevagh at
home last week. The final score was C/M 3.12

U-13:
Our
U-13 team lost out to Eastern Harps in the first round of the division one
league last week. Final score: C/M 5.6 Eastern Harps 6.7.
All
The
club draw for the All-Ireland hurling final tickets will take place next week.
Only full paid up members are entitled to enter the draw. Please forward on
your name to club secretary Leo Coleman by next Monday August 31st
at the latest.
Antrim Trip:
Our U-16
team have been invited by the Roger Casements/Sean Stinsons club in Antrim to
spend the weekend of August 28-30th with the club as their guests. This is to
reciprocate the hospitality show to the club when they visited
