Coolaney/Mullinabreena GAA PRO Notes

November 8, 2018

Underage Presentations:

A large attendance turned out last Monday evening at St. Nathy’s Hall for the U-12 and U-16 medal presentation event. We were fortunate to have the Sam Maguire cup present for the occasion. Chairman Brendan Kivlehan welcomed all and thanked the coaches and parents involved with both teams. Coaches Micheál Gorman and Gerry Mullen presented the medals to the U-12 B shield champions. Donegal’s most capped player Brian Roper was the guest who presented the U-16 A2 champions with their medals with coaches Bernie Finan and Colin Connolly both speaking to thank all involved. Many thanks to the caterers, stewards and all who helped out with organising the evening. Many took the opportunity to take photographs with the famous cup. Thanks to Seamus O’Dowd and Tom Callanan for their assistance. Thanks also to Gillespies’, Tubbercurry for sponsoring some gift awards for the players. Here’s hoping for more underage success in 2013.

Lotto:

Members and supporters are reminded that the club lotto is due for renewal in the coming weeks. The club lotto covers two thirds of the club’s annual running costs and is the principal fundraising venture of the year. The proceeds go towards all player’s insurance, public liability insurance, affiliation fees, park maintenance etc. The club would simply not survive without this vital community contribution. We appeal to senior players, parents and all club members for your continued support and note that the club contacts will be distributing the 2013 tickets shortly. The current jackpot stands at €6700.

Sligo Debut:

Congrats to club man Declan McCormack who made his Sligo senior debut last weekend against Sligo IT in the FBD league.

Bursary Award:

Congrats to Criostoir Davey who was among 45 Connacht players to be awarded 3rd. Level Bursaries in Áras Connacht on Saturday last. Connacht is unique as a Provincial Council in that Awards are granted to members who attend college inside and outside the province.
