County Junior B Camogie Final:

Ballyhea camogie produced a tremendous performance to defeat red hot favourites Grenagh last Saturday. Ballyhea were totally on top in the first half and went in deserving 0-8 to 0-1 leaders at half time. Ballyhea struck for the crucial 1st goal in the 38th minute when Mary Coleman billowed the net.Wwe would have been furter ahead but for 2 excellent saves by the grenagh keeper to deny Rachel Waters and Orla Carroll. Grenagh pulled a goal back from a 21 yard free in the 60th min, but a Sarah Douglas free deceived the Grenagh defence in the 66th minute to seal a famous victory. After the game Michelle Walsh, Ballyhea’s Captain was presented the cup. County camogie Board Chairperson Sheila Golden presented the Person Of The Match award to the outstanding Maria Walsh. Great credit for this victory must go to the players and especially coaches Maurice O’ Sullivan and Hugh O’ Leary who kept the team going when it looked like we would have no team.
